Curiosity Stirs Writing and Readers!

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. Albert Einstein

Do you find that writing can easily slip into the form of a lecture...that is you tell people rather than converse with them? Lecture type writing's presented in a way that's "apart" from readers... It presents facts and information or even opinion in a closed type forum, which does not elicit responses from readers. The writer presents himself or herself as "expert." The atmosphere's rather cold... How might you turn that around?

Joanna Young reminded me that writing often starts with what you know... and that's so true. But, writing can also help us "to know" more. Ellen Weber tells me she "writes to know." It comes when we follow our curiosity... Do you?

Consider curiosity to launch your writing today!

Curiosity Can Open Minds of Readers... Ever used curiosity as a tool to write? For example, I'm curious about Robert Hurzek's announcement about a big risk he chose to take. Can't wait to see what Robert's up to. He chose that as a way to make me want to know.

Think of novels you enjoy most... Can't wait to see what's upcoming in the plot? How might you convert that tool so often used in fiction to your nonfiction writing?

Curiosity Opens Your Mind... No matter how much we think we know, it seems that new research can change what we thought previously. Let's keep searching to find out more! Then challenge yourself to see if you can stir that curiosity for others.

Curiosity Invites Others' Ideas... By genuinely wanting to learn from others, you can build a camaraderie with readers. I've found it opens the door to amazing conversations.

Curiosity Helps Solve Problems... Wonder "What if...?" Give it your best stab and see if it works! Let us know about your experience!

Curiosity Activates Your Brain... The human brain leaps to solve puzzles, follow wonder and answer questions. You can build mental well being and brain health through life-long learning.

What's priming your curiosity today that can stir readers' interest?
