March Spotlights Bloggers' 8 Intelligences

Spotlighting bloggers' eight intelligences launched as a way to connect more to folks in the blogosphere who use their smarts extremely well. This week's spotlight illumines...

Intrapersonal Intelligence Char at Casual Keystrokes battles with the two P's - Procrastination and Perfection. Char explains her dilemma well, but she wants to change and asks readers for suggestions. Her reflection helped her realize she must change and adjust. To reflect deeply as Char did shows strong intrapersonal intelligence. This week I dug deeper to answer your question about solving procrastination and perfection problems by blogging on each. I needed to find new answers, too, Char because I struggle at times.

Spatial Intelligence Scott McLeod shares a video that asks, "Did You Know?" about our current place in the world. When viewing, you grasp a big picture of how our world is shaping with leads in IQ, technology, education and population. Where does the US stand in relation to the whole? Don't miss this powerful video that can change your day!

Heri Rakotomalala in Montreal shows world maps detailing wealth and hours worked in relation to world populations. These maps shrink and enlarge to tell the story of the world's wealth and power. Heri's blog adds to Scott's work.

Naturalistic Intelligence Jennifer Jones, who's "in awe of the wonders of the universe and curious about pretty much everything," shows the Formation of A Star. Take two minutes to watch what took billions of years to create.

Logical-Mathematical Intelligence David Armano, Creative VP at Digitas, introduces Sugar which runs on a $100.00 laptop designed to "bring personal computing and Internet connectivity to impoverished nations." Bravo to the folks who sought to share technology with the third world at a very affordable price. David asks, "My question is—will this ultra simplification impact our own high end/high tech devices?" He wishes he could play around with one of these and see for himself. Thoughts?...

Interpersonal Intelligence Anna Farmery thoughtfully asks, Does your communication resonate? Conversation is key to Anna. If you want to develop more communication skills don't miss Anna's tips to resonate and truly engage others. Anna asks Ellen Weber great questions, on today's Podcast, Understanding the Brain and Motivation, to help business leaders see how their brain plays such a big role in what they do and why they do it. The Podcast features lot more about the multiple intelligence if you want to grow more.

Musical Intelligence Jeff Lindsey, a technologist and entrepreneur fascinated with emergence and generative systems, introduces "the most aesthetically pleasing music video..." Amazingly you'll see the day in the life of a working girl in London, to the tune of Remind Me by Röyksopp. Interestingly the video opens our eyes to the many design systems we use in a day. Music enhances the overall message. Do you use music to your advantage daily?

Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence I can relate to Kathy Burns-Millyard's advice to find exercise that's fun if you plan to lose weight. Here's what Kathy advocates...
Instead of exercising though, you should try just being active with something you enjoy. When you’re having fun with something - particularly activities that require a lot of movement - you can still lose weight, increase your bodies metabolism, and tone your muscles… all while having a blast at the same time!
I'll bet Brad Schorr, who discusses the hole in Krispy Kreme's new whole wheat donut will enjoy Kathy's advice! And Brad, since I indulged in too many delectible scones in Ireland, I looked for the easiest plan to get back in shape.

Verbal Linguistic Intelligence Have you wrestled with choosing words that connect more to readers? Lynn Gaertner-Johnston provides excellent tips to let your purpose guide you. Lynn's site is a treasure trove of great writing tips.

We're born with differing amounts of each of the multiple intelligences. To stir creativity and innovation at work, why not use different smarts than usual in this week's projects? Then, you'll soon be in the spotlight where it counts...Thoughts?

Verbal-Linguistic Intelligence What's in a story? Plenty according to Andrea Learned. She believes that storytelling stirs real life from dead data. Andrea asks us to reflect about this question... "Could you take the facts you might list on an annual report or year-end summary and pull out a few stories to better express the truths of the great things your brand has accomplished?"

I love to catch folks using their talents well... ... It helps me consider new ideas and skills. Not only that I'm challenge to put them in practice.

Thoughts?
